COVID-19. We’re In This Together

For over 20 years, Padbury Pharmacy has been a trusted provider of quality health advice, services and products. Our local community comes first, and we’ve always striven to give our customers the best care possible, helping you to find your better in any way we can.

Amidst the global health crisis we find ourselves in, we want to reassure our community that our quality of care will not subside. As the Australian Government’s restrictions change by the hour and by the day, we want you to rest assured that our commitment to you won’t waver. Any which way we can, we will continue to update our processes and implement safe strategies to offer our community the support and reliable healthcare needed.

At Padbury Pharmacy, we are lucky enough to be backed by friendly, empathetic and supportive health care professionals and staff members. As a team, we are committed to making sure our valued customers receive scripts and repeats when required, as well as continual access to all of our other services — and all with a smile! This extends beyond our doors too, with trusted healthcare professionals such as doctors and nurses in our local community working in collaboration with Padbury Pharmacy, in any way possible.

All that we ask in return is for our lovely customers to return the smile and adhere to the Government’s restrictions and recommendations, so that we can continue providing optimal support day in day out.

If any of these apply to you, please remain at home and refrain from coming in store:

  • You have been overseas or have been in contact with someone who has been overseas in the last 14 days.
  • You are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms such as difficulty breathing, unusual temperatures, a cough, fever, or fatigue.
  • You are in the ‘high risk’ group. This includes people with auto-immune diseases, chronic medical conditions, young children and babies, and the elderly.

If you find you fall into any of these groups, never fear! Padbury Pharmacy can still offer you support via phone or email, and our team can arrange to have scripts and supplies delivered to your door if need be.

In store, we have put in place preventative measures in an effort to halt the spread throughout the wider community and help ensure the health and safety of everyone who steps foot inside. Customers can rest assured our surfaces are cleaned hourly, hand santiser is used frequently, and our team continues to practice and promote spatial distancing of at least two metres between everyone in store.

In an attempt to limit physical contact where we can, contactless payments are requested where possible. In the interest of keeping our team safe and healthy, we ask that you adapt to cashless payments if you are able. Whether this be via you card, phone apps or even smart watches and rings, the less cash handled, the better. We understand that this is not achievable by all members of our community, and we will still gladly (and safely) accept cash from those who need to use it.

We also offer a new service that allows our customers to have your prescriptions filled in a way that is seamless, contactless and with limited exposure. The app, MedAdvisor, available on any device which can be used to access the internet (including your desktop computer), offers a convenient way to track, manage and pay for medications and scripts.

By selecting Padbury Pharmacy as your preferred pharmacy upon registration, the MedAdvisor app allows you to receive SMS, email and voice reminders about when you are due to make an order, while prompting our team in store to fill your script. When it’s ready, we’ll let you know it’s time to come pick it up!

Pay In Advance, a recent feature of the app, also allows customers to pre-pay for your medications from the safety and comfort of your home, making the transaction in store as quick and contactless as possible. You are also able to use the app to communicate directly with our team in store, who can arrange our home delivery service for you if you are unable to leave home to collect your medications.

In the coming days and weeks, we will introduce more systems and processes which will make things continually more accessible (and easier) for our community. We will continue to work in collaboration with our fellow health care professionals in Padbury and surrounding areas, to bring you the tailored and reliable service you have come to know and love from the team at Padbury Pharmacy.

If you’ve visited our social media platforms lately (Facebook and Instagram), you will know that Steve has continued to highlight the importance between spatial and social distancing. Spatial distancing is one of our most powerful tools to fighting COVID-19, and we should always ensure we are following government regulated spatial distancing rules. We encourage you to STAY HOME, and truly only leave the house if it is essential to your health and wellbeing to do so.

Socially, however, it is more important than ever to remain connected and emotionally close to those around us. We are lucky to live in an age where our devices can connect us to people all around the world in an instant. Social media can bring communities of people together, even if they’ve never met before. To maintain positive mental and social health, we encourage you to use these platforms to your best ability to engage and connect with others that you are unable to physically see. Reach out to older or vulnerable members of your family and friends via Skype or FaceTime, and set regular check ins with them to make sure they are keeping well. Apps like TikTok and HouseParty not only give our kids something to entertain themselves with (learning those dances isn’t easy), but it provides a platform for us to connect with others both locally and globally, allowing us to maintain social interaction and a positive outlook on life.

There are also countless meditation and mental health resources, apps and podcasts which you can access to help you through the current times. One of our personal favourites, Headspace, is offering free meditation and mindfulness resources for the current crisis, and you can find access to these here.

If you feel like you need to speak with someone private and in confidentiality, we encourage you to reach out to the below resources and groups.

We are all in this together. Stay safe and keep smiling.
