It’s been a HUGE second half of 2019 at Padbury Pharmacy

It’s been a HUGE second half of 2019 at Padbury Pharmacy and we’re so excited to share it with you. Whether you’ve been keeping up in store or online, or you’ve missed all the action completely, come with us as we take you through the latest and greatest from your favourite local pharmacy (and coffee shop, we didn’t forget you Alex Junior)!

Back in August, we celebrated all things ‘Dadbury’ in the lead up to Father’s Day, on Sunday September 1st. Teaming up with our best friends at AJ, we gave away the most epic Father’s Day prize to a deserving Padbury dad. The concept was simple, jump onto our socials (Facebook and Instagram) and tell us about the special father figure in your life. We had so many beautiful entries, which made it very clear that the dads of Padbury are SO loved! As for the prize, Steve so generously gifted up his framed and signed Mitchell Johnson poster, which was taken out of retirement from the man cave for this very special occassion.

In the end, the prize was gifted to Taryn (pictured above) who had entered on behalf of her husband, who she said had provided incredible support and strength while enduring the loss of their 10 month old baby, 3 years back.

We so often focus on the mums of Padbury (and why wouldn’t we, they rock!) but as father’s themselves, it was as important as ever to Steve and Kieran to recognise the role of fathers too. This is a focus we will continue into 2020, and you’ve only seen the beginning of Dadbury!

The end of September saw us coming down with a serious case of footy fever, verdict: incurable! Even though our cherished West Coast Eagles caused mass heartbreak when they narrowly missed out on playing a back-to-back Grand Final, we still had some fun in store, giving customers a chance to lucky draw a top 6 finalist to take them through to the win! A lucky handful who selected the Richmond Tigers were treated to a free coffee at AJ to celebrate the win (or cure the GF hangover…).

October saw all things Telethon hit the store, with fundraising in full swing for the annual Telethon weekend over October 26th and 27th. We kicked things off with Alex Juniors 2nd Birthday where everyone came together and had a ‘circus’ of a time with face painting, balloon twisting and of course lots of coffee, and cakes which were generously donated by our local suppliers. The day was a smashing success, and all proceeds raised from coffee and food sales on the day went towards our total Telethon donation.

Raising his two young sons, Alex and Hugo, alongside supportive wife Simone, Steve holds a special place in his heart for Telethon. Telethon weekend was the perfect time for Steve and Simone to teach the boys about gratitude and appreciation for their own good health. Once again we were blown away by the generosity, love and support from the Padbury community. The Litas family was honoured to be asked to present a donation on behalf of Padbury Pharmacy and Alex Junior ON AIR over the Telethon weekend, and if you were watching at 8.45am on Sunday morning, you may just have caught Steve and (the real) Alex Junior presenting a grand total of $4,424!

A massive shoutout must go to the wonderful local businesses and suppliers who gave donations when we reached out. We also want to thank our fantastic and loyal customers who gave generously in our gold coin donation buckets that we had in store throughout October.  We couldn’t have done it without you all and we’re already planning something bigger and better for 2020.

What ELSE did we get up to in October we hear you ask? Well, we launched a new product range into the pharmacy by the name of MooGoo and we UDDERLY love it… See what we did there? MooGoo are an eco friendly, Australian owned company that offers a range of natural, safe products with ingredients that are designed for people with skin and scalp problems. The range now boasts a whole ‘herd’ of natural products for different issues, from irritable skin, natural sun care products and a baby range for the little ones. Their ingredient philosophy is to make effective products using healthy ingredients, that are suitable for use on adults and little humans, and it's no surprise that here at Padbury we can’t get enough of them. With Christmas right around the corner, what better time to visit us in store and check out what’s coming up for the silly season. Between Padbury Pharmacy, Alex Junior and the always amazing Cafe Collective, you’re sure to find the best stocking fillers for the whole family!
