Men's Health | In Conversation with Mitchell Johnson

"Communication is a hard thing as a guy. We don't like to communicate that well, and especially on a topic like mental health, it's quite difficult."

In the latest episode of our Men's Health series, Steve speaks with Australian Fast Bowler legend, Mitchell Johnson, on all things health and how Mitch has balanced his transition from elite sportsman to husband and father. Mitch opens up about his own mental health struggles and experiences, both while playing cricket for Australia, and in the years since his retirement.

"It's been an up and down road. It hasn't been easy at times. I've found out about myself a lot. I've got ADHD and suffered some depression as well."

Our goal throughout this entire campaign is to give you the tools to start your own conversations, and bring to you the real life experiences of the men in our community. "We just, as men, wait for something to go wrong." It's time to rewrite these narratives, and recognise that prevention really is better than the cure. Regular check ups, and checks in's with yourself and others, are they key. So whatever that first step may be, we encourage you to take it, and Padbury Pharmacy will be here to help along the way.
